It all started with passion…

With ideals deeply rooted in her Italian heritage, Carol Jo Sichender dreamed of a career in teaching where she could personally invest in and enrich the lives of her students. As Carol came to realize that life choices are not always clear and dreams change, her passion unexpectedly shifted from teaching to becoming a hair dresser, which she pursued much to the initial dismay of her mother and grandmother!

When the opportunity came for Carol to purchase Pruontos Hair Design Institute in 1980, she realized she could combine her passions of hair design and teaching into her ultimate purpose. Carol applied the fundamentals of caring and personal investment in her students, thus beginning her profession as the Director and a cosmetology instructor at Pruontos.

Carol has since passed on these original values to her daughter, Kim, who took over the school in 2007 and continues to weave them into every aspect of the Pruontos education.
